Comparing quotes in the Central Coast
With 25 businesses covering the Central Coast, it's worth getting two or three quotes for the same job. Ask each one:
which High Risk Work Licence class their crew holds, and for a copy of their insurance
whether putting up and taking down the scaffold are both included
how many weeks of hire the price covers, and the cost of each extra week
who applies for the council permit, if the scaffold sits on a footpath or road
Licences

Council permits
Central Coast Council: Hoarding and scaffolding application. A hoarding or scaffolding on a footpath or other council land needs council approval. There's an application fee and a monthly fee while it stays up.
Suburbs outside the city centre may be in a different council area. Your scaffolder will often apply for you, so check who is arranging it before the job starts. Central Coast Council's permit page(checked November 2026).
