Anyone putting up, changing or taking down scaffolding where a person or object could fall more than 4 metres needs a High Risk Work Licence in the right class: basic (SB), intermediate (SI) or advanced (SA). Ask your scaffolder which class their crew holds and for a copy of their insurance.
Brisbane City Council: Footway permit for hoarding and gantry. Hoarding or a gantry on a footpath needs council approval. Apply with the Application/Notice to Work on Council Property form and a site plan showing how pedestrians get past. Council asks you to allow 20 days.
