Anyone putting up, changing or taking down scaffolding where a person or object could fall more than 4 metres needs a High Risk Work Licence in the right class: basic (SB), intermediate (SI) or advanced (SA). Ask your scaffolder which class their crew holds and for a copy of their insurance.
City of Gold Coast: Interference with a road permit (Local Law No. 11). Anything that occupies a road, footpath or verge, including hoardings and gantries, needs this permit. Apply online at least 15 business days ahead, or 20 for high-impact work.
